Schools & Basketball Journey
For Gregory Alden Parham II — better known as "AP" — basketball has always been more than a sport; it's been a lifelong pursuit of discipline, growth, and purpose. That same drive is what led him to launch GAP Hoops in 2023 — a training brand built on a simple premise: the work you put in creates the gap between you and everyone else.
The work you put in creates the gap between you and everyone else.
Gap Hoops was born from a deep passion for the game and a commitment to giving back through it.
Founded by Gregory Alden Parham II, Gap Hoops is rooted in his years of high-level playing experience, leadership, and athletic development. A native of Richmond, Virginia, Alden played high school basketball at Monacan High School, where he established himself as one of the top prospects in the state. During his high school career, he was named 2-time Player of the Year, earned 1st Team All-State honors, and was a 2-time Conference Player of the Year. He also helped lead Monacan to the school's first-ever State Championship, cementing his legacy as a fierce competitor.
His emphasis on hard work, discipline, and skill development earned him a Division I scholarship to Virginia Military Institute (VMI) in Lexington, Virginia.
